Problem

Many schools, colleges, and small libraries still rely on spreadsheets or outdated software to manage books, members, and borrowing records, resulting in inefficiencies and poor user experience.

Solution

Libris Flow centralizes library operations into a single platform where administrators can manage books, track inventory, monitor borrowing activity, and maintain member records with ease.

Design

The interface was designed with a clean dashboard-focused approach using shadcn/ui and Tailwind CSS, prioritizing accessibility, responsive layouts, and minimal learning curve for librarians.

Architecture

Built with Next.js and TypeScript using a modern full-stack architecture. The system integrates secure authentication, role-based access control, database-driven catalog management, and scalable API routes.

Challenges
  • Designing an intuitive workflow for book issuance and returns.
  • Managing real-time inventory updates across multiple transactions.
  • Implementing secure authentication and role-based permissions.
  • Optimizing search performance for large book collections.
Results
  • Streamlined daily library management operations.
  • Reduced manual record-keeping and administrative workload.
  • Enabled faster book search and circulation tracking.
  • Created a scalable foundation for future features such as barcode support, analytics, and digital library integration.
